Vigil For Victims of Parkland shooting

We gathered yesterday at Willow Bay for a community vigil of healing after the Parkland Shooting. Because of ice the event could not be held at the Peacemaker's Sanctuary.

The wind was brutal, several people that came early left before the ceremony began. We were forced to move behind the restroom building to shield ourselves from the wind.

Chaplain David Pasinski led us in a very moving ceremony. People were definitely  a bit angry and frustrated as were many in Parkland Florida such as Alyssa Alhadef's Mom. As one student said we need more to be done than just say prayersprayers.

We were blessed with media coverage, as we were after the vigil for Las Vegas Shooting. Here is a partial list of what has been posted to Media websites so far, more pending.

Here are some pictures

At times the balloons were almost horizontal against the ground because of teh wind.

Dave had everyone draw a heart on their hand. Then write an R inside of it for  for remembrance, recommitment, and renewal.

Afterwards we went to the Peacemaker's Sanctuary, said some prayers and left the balloons there.
