Kids Test Scores Plummet--TECHNOLOGY KILLS

A recent NY Times analysis found that student test scores after rising since 1990 began plummeting in the early 2010's. Reading scores dropped for  83 percent of school districts  while math dipped in 70 percent of districts compared to the previous decade.  The reason for the decline were given as increased screen time, a decline in recreational reading and shorter attention spans. No doubt the introduction of the iPhone in 2010/11 was a major contributor.

Technology is dumbing us down.

Many have written about the problems posed by technology. On this blog I have consistently educated on how technology makes us less empathetic, alienates us, makes us lonely, depresses us and more... Click on, or type Technology Kills in the search box.

Here we are talking about how social media and cell phones make us think less, read less.....Instead of reading a book that gets us to think,  we scroll. WE are being dumbed down because we are thinking less. Imagine how the introduction of the car, while providing convenience, got us to walk less; and in doing so we exercised our legs less and our leg muscles began to atrophy.

No doubt we are moving closer to a world as seen in the movie the Matrix where we exist in an incubator;  we are fed and our minds are mined and hijacked to feed the machines with our brain impulses.

El Niino is Forecast To Be a Monster This Summer

Weather Forecasters are calling for a strong El Niño  this summer that could bring about record heat. Some are calling it a super El Niño the likes of which we have never seen.

The latest projections from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, visualized in the chart below, all show sea surface temperatures rising at least 4.5 degrees Fahrenheit (2.5 degrees Celsius) above average by November. Some shoot over the top of the Y-axis, predicting temperature increases of more than 7.2 degrees F (4 degrees C) by that month. That’s well into super El Niño territory.  Worst-Case Scenarios for El Niño Are Literally Off the Charts

The concern is that this becomes self-reinforcing  loop as  a warmer summer will put increasing pressure on the grid which will raise pollution levels, it will also increase ozone levels, also increase  forest fires, increase thermal inversion ground level pollution, which will... all of which will magnify the affects a warmer summers, which.......

Our dance with death is accelerating.

Underestimating Climate Change--AGAIN!

This past week a report came out saying that current models are seriously underestimating the production of CO2.

New research from Northern Arizona University found that a global greenhouse gas emissions database produced by the Climate TRACE consortium, co-founded by former Vice President Al Gore, is underestimating vehicle carbon dioxide emissions in cities by an average of 70%. Click to read more

No surprise here. I  have been writing about the understimating of the climate crisis for years. You can read those posts athttps://motherearthprayers.blogspot.com/search/label/Underestimating%20Climate%20Change
