High Tor Labor Day Weekend Visit

 I visited High Tor NYS Wildlife Management Area this past Labor Day Weekend and climbed South. I posted some pictures of my visit to my Clarks Gully Blog.

Monarch Butterflys Placed on Endangered List

Migratory Monarch Butterflies were placed on the endangered species list today. Sad. See video below.

I have had several memorable experiences with Monarch Butterflies at Clarks Gully, or South Hill, in Naples NY. One Labor Day weekend years ago while climbing South Hill on the herd path along the gully I stopped at a clearing that once had a fallen tree for years. I saw what I thought were three large orbs in the distance. Upon closer inspection I realized that they were swarms of Monarch Butterflies. INCREDIBLE.

Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me. However, I have snapped pictures of Monarch Butterflies at the gully on several occasions. Here is one, Labor Day Weekend--Four Tiered Mound, Keepers Area

From High Tor Area

A few weeks back I had a chance to survey on private property close to High Tor NYS Wildlife Management Area at the southern end of Canandaigua Lake in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. My Clarks Gully Blog is focused on the stone and aspects of Mother Earth found at High Tor.

 A trio of Manitou Stones that have begun tilting over the millennia. This is the first time that I have ever seen such a conglomeration of Large Manitou Stones. I regularly find groupings of small Manitou Stones.

One of the Manitou Stones was still standing fairly well.

Survey of Sacred Sites in Downstate NY, PART VIII--Shaupeneak Stone Mounds

Later that Saturday morning Sandy (Estelle's daughter) and her husband Mike took me to  Shaupeneak Ridge. Sandy wanted to show me some standing stones, but unfortunately we did not find them. 

While Sandy was a little bummed, I was tickled pink. Why? Because we found some incredible stone mounds with dimpled or hollowed out centers, or depressed areas. Most likely Middlesex focus, basically Adena like. They marked energy formations and were very reminiscent of what is at High Tor NYS Wildlife Management Area in Middlesex, NY. (See my Clarks Gully Blog for pics.)

We were really pressed for time because I had to speak in the early afternoon at the American Society of Dowsers Convention in New Paltz.

Mound 1 Was a large stone mound with two dimpled, or depressed areas.

 The stone mound covers Earth Chakras. The cushion gives perspective on the depth of the depressed areas.

 The other depressed or dimpled area.


Stone Mound 2. Had one large hollowed out or dimpled center. Within the depressed area was a large platform stone marking the intersection of numerous Energy Lines. I have never seen such a formation before. I have seen plenty of dimpled stone mounds and many platform stones by themselves, never before the two together. Amazing and I feel blessed to have found it.

 The platform stone is located between the staffs marking Energy Lines and my seat cushion.

We had to rush back so that I could change and drive to New Paltz college to give my talk. I hope to go back to Shaupeneak Ridge with Sandy and Mike to see the standing stones some time in the future. I did make it back in time for my talk that was well attended.

I left Estelle's about 5 pm and got back to Syracuse by 10pm. I even picked up Living Water in Lyle, NY.

It was a great trip. I certainly used my time well and surveyed and saw lots of sacred sites. What Fun. Thanks God. And thanks to Estelle for her company, generosity and good spirit. I feel so blessed.

What drew me to Whangton was a picture of a stone mound I saw on the NEARA webpage

It was very reminiscent of the stone mounds at High Tor; a dimpled center and appeared to be covering some Earth Chakras. Here are some examples from my Clarks Gully Blog:

 Staffs mark a few of the Energy Lines; many more were not marked. Three yellow tapes breaking from the red and white staff mark Earth Chakras. Notice the width on the left side.
It was one of the largest stone mounds I had ever seen. It was also connected to a very large stone wall; which begged the question where does the fence end and stone mound begin?

Janice Carr saying a blessing and laying a red carnation in the center. She is preparing to spread some tobacco. We said prayers and gave blessings at all of the structures. Sadly because we were time constrained we did not meditate at any location.
