Busy Season, Ancient Ruins Reveal Something Special

 Friends,

With the leaves falling and frost killing the ground cover, my busy season of scouring the land looking for stone structures has begun and will not end until early May. I am writing asking for suggestions,  places I should investigate on public grounds in the northeast that contain stone structures. Please post a picture and location and if I decide to investigate I will invite you along. I can dowse the picture to determine if it merits study.

It does not have to be pristine or an extravagant location with lots of stone structures. Rather the simplest, the dilapidated, barely noticeable places that often contain the most remarkable things such as Earth Magic in the form of Energy Vortices, Blind Springs… Below is a  a video of a survey I did with Peter Shell this past week. It shows what is posible. While the place had some large stone structures most of it had been  buried with Earth over the eons. But it contained an Energy Vortex, Blind Spring and even a Thin Veil that brought a remarkable encounter with the Other Side.

Survey--Delaware Counties' Stone Columns and more Part II Manitou Stones

There were a few Manitou Stones on the property, but not an abundance of them. The picture below is of the largest one I found. My staff, marked in increments of one foot, showed it to be about three feet high. My dog Jaeda Bear is pictured next to the stone.

The side view of he Manitou Stone below shows it to be about two feet thick.

Below is a cluster of several Manitou Stones. The large stone in front looks like a Manitou Stone, but it is not.

I imagine the large stone embedded in front was placed there by a glacier a long time ago, or by some other Earth moving event.

The picture above was taken on the other side of the large stone. The two stones on the bottom left are Manitou Stones. Both have begun tilting. I imagine long ago the area between the two Manitous and the larger stone was electrified.

Putnam County, NY Survey- Part 1--Manitou Stones

Over a month ago I drove down to Putnam county in downstate New York, a little north of NYC, for a survey with Polly Midgley and Bill Pollard. We all wore masks, which for me was the longest I have worn one for an extended period. We found lots of Manitou Stones , interesting stone walls, a large balanced rock and more. We ran into a recently lightning struck tree. As expected I found a strike point nearby as I talk about.

What we encountered is very similar to what I had found earlier during a survey in the Catskills/Hudson Valley region. Stone Structures--Hudson Valley/ Catskills Part 1 Overview

Part 1 Manitou Stones

We found lots and lots of Manitou stones. They were mostly of a larger size and not the smaller ones we often find throughout New York State, New England and in the Mid-Atlantic states.

The picture above is of the larger Manitou Stones. It is about four feet high. My staff is candy-striped in one foot increments.

The Manitou Stone above is a little tough to see, it is directly behind the fence in front of the picture. It also marks the beginning of another fence that intersects the fence in front.

Here is a closeup of the Manitou Stone, it is about two feet high.

Finding Manitou Stones within a stone wall is a common feature I have seen in West Virginia and though out New England. It was also reminiscent to what we found at our survey in the Catskills/Hudson Valley region north of where we were in Putnam county.

Putnam County, NY Survey- Part 2--An enclosed Sacred Area

Manitou's at Skytop (in the city of Syracuse) Posting #6 Creviced Manitous

Here are some trail maps from TrailForks-- Skytop Main Loop     and  Skytop lot South Entrance for Skytop. 

I have found an incredibly rich area for stone structures within Skytop; an abandoned quarry that straddles the  city of Syracuse and neghboring Jamesville, NY. There are areas with powerful energy and lots and lots of Manitou Stones.

Manitous in Crevice/Ravines 

One of the more interesting findings within Skytop are Manitous Stones located within rock crevices that are 5-10 feet deep and 10-20 feet wide. It is hard to believe that someone would place large stones within a crevice of that size.

The pictures below are from a crevice about 50 feet long. There are several Manitou stone within it.

My staff is painted in 1 foot increments. The Manitou Stone above is tilting.

The picture below is of a Manitou Stone with a small crevice, the size of a few hot tubs put together. The Manitou is tilting and about 4-5 feet long.

Who would have thought that millennia ago people would go to the effort to construct Manitou Stones in rock crevices.

Skytop continues to amaze and educate. It has been such a blessing to find such a place close to home.

Return To Melondy and the Appearance of Another Yellow Orb

Freaky. Almost a year to the day when I first photographed a yellow orb (Rare Photo of a Yellow Orb ) in one of my pictures while doing a survey of the Hudson Valley (Stone Structures--Hudson Valley/ Catskills Part 1 Overview) I catch another one.

A Big Coincidence?

I went back to Melondy Hill Thursday as a follow-up to my visit a week ago (Melondy Hill State Forest (SE Chenango County, NY), Part 1 Manitou Stones) to try and find a large triangular stone mound 15 long and 8 feet high that Don Windsor Chenango county historian talked about in his manual on stone mounds in Chenango County in NY.

I walked all around the general area that he referred to and did not see a large stone mound. I did find huge flat top boulders, which I assumed was the bedrock he referred to in his write-up.

Several of these stone slabs had Manitou Stones on them, or near them as in the photo below.

I had just photographed a Manitou Stone on top of one of these large boulders and went to investigate below the stone slab and found lots of loose stone stones surrounding the slab wondering if they were stones from a stone structure that may have fallen npart?    

The picture below shows lots of stacked stone, or a fractured section of the slab, below a hemlock tree.

It also shows a yellow orb on the upper left side of the picture.

The next shot I took at a different angle with my camera turned shows the yellow orb in almost the same exact location. Demonstrating it was not something on my camera lens that created the yellow orb.

In my post about the yellow orb last year I noted that many view yellow orbs as a sign, or omen, of caution or to be cautious. I now wonder if the appearance of the yellow orb was because of something else--perhaps another connection to me, or to the fact that both areas have columned stone structures.

Seeing a yellow orb says that enchantment is still there if we believe and look hard enough.

Melondy Hill State Forest (SE Chenango County, NY), Part 1 Manitou Stones

Given the success that I have had doing surveys recently in Chenango County, NY  (Survey in Chenango County, NY--Part I, Chenango County Survey (9/26)--Continued) I decided I would return to Chenango County.

While doing research I remembered Don Windsor Chenango County's archaeologist's paper on Stone Mounds in Chenango County. Given the glowing writeup on  Melondy Hill NYS DEC State Forest I decided to go there.I also found a writeup that Don Windsor did for the Rock Piles Blog Souvenirs of Yesteryear: The mysterious stone ... - Rock Pilesrockpiles.blogspot.com › 2006/10 › souvenirs-of-yester... I was pretty psyched to check out the tall columned stone structures at Melondy Hill.

The challenge was that I would have to walk two miles in a trail-less state forest relying only on my compass and a topographical map to get to the stone columns. I was also going to use the boundary markers of the state forest to help guide me. Unfortunately, I had difficulty finding the first boundary marker.....

Manitous Abound

On my hike in I found lots of Manitou Stones (pictured below), mostly small ones in areas that had not been logged. I did not see any Manitou Stones in areas that were logged on my hike in; although I did not spend time looking because I was  on the move. These logged areas contained lots of rubble, large truck tracks, overturned soil, downed trees and a vibe that was negative. In essence these areas were both physically and spiritually scarred. 

If you have read this blog, or my other works, you know that the vibe/atmosphere of a particular space is very important. That is because a positive vibe will enhance a space, while a negative vibe will diminish a space. An improved vibe will accentuate and highlight features of Mother Earth found there. More on this later.

The following are some of the larger Manitou Stones that I found.

In the picture below Jaeda Bear is lying down between two larger Manitou Stones.

The picture below shows how the Manitou on the right side in the picture above has split.

As I noted finding that first boundary marker was a challenge and I walked over a mile before I found one. I can't remember if I ever felt more grateful for finding a posted sign. See below.

Melondy Hill State Forest (SE Chenango County, NY), Part 2 The Zig Zag Stone Mound

Melondy Hill State Forest (SE Chenango County, NY), Part 3 Stone Columns

It took me almost two hours to get to the tall stone columns. Not knowing my way, stopping to photograph Manitou Stones, having to constantly zig and zag to walk around objects such as downed trees increased my time walking. It was well worth it.

There were well over a dozen stone mounds in the shape of a column in varying states of condition: from excellent to poor.

All of the stone mounds marked the intersection of numerous Energy Lines. A nest. I call the intersection of numerous Energy Lines, Ley Lines or any other linear line of Mother Earth a Nest. When you get a Nest of converging lines you often get other Nests nearby because there are so many lines converging in an area. That is the case here. Multiple nests close to each other.

Given so many Nests people decided to mark them by making stone columns.

I imagine that this was a very holy and sacred area at one time. That had numerous pilgrims coming to pray, to do ceremony or coming for healings.

Unfortunately, the vibe that once must have been very powerful was now gone. I found shot gun shells and a magazine with a stone upon which a hunter sat on. Hunting has a very detrimental affect upon a space--the thought of killing, even a four legged is very negative and stands in sharp contrast to the love and sacredness of the original intent of visiting pilgrims.

The eye candy visual appeal of the stone column attracts curiosity seekers, thrill seekers and others. This intent of curiosity contrasts with the sacred intent of the space. This intent merges with the original intent and diminishes it. Again diminishing the vibe.

As I noted in Part 2. People into  things (material objects), thrill seekers and the like will be drawn to large and intricate stone structures. That intention  and focus will begin to attach to the structure and surrounding space. In the process the vibe will begin to diminish. That is why  I came up with my OSTENTATIOUS THEORY OF SACRED SITES; that having an elaborate of visually appealing stone structure attracts an element that diminishes its vibe.

Again you need a positive vibe to enhance a space and the aspects of Mother Earth found there.

Unfortunately a Treasure hunter or amateur archaeologist decided to rip apart one of the stone  mounds to  investigate it, and/or hoping to loot it of any treasure. In the picture below Jaeda Bear is lying in the depressed/dimpled center of what was once a stone column. I imagine that the stones surrounding the sunken center were part of the stone column.

It was another great day connecting with our Mother and learning from and appreciating the work of the Earth Healers and Telluric People that constructed these stone columns. Thank you.

I also have a hunch that these stone columns are a makeover of what was there originally. That what was there originally had decayed and someone decided to reconstruct them by building over them. I have seen this at Stonewall Jackson State Park West Virginia ( Part III Stonewall/Ohiopyle Survey--The Earthen Mound  and at Long Branch Park at Onondaga Lake Park in Syracuse New York (The (Hopewell Adena?) Mounds at Onondaga Lake ). It's only a hunch.

It was a great trip. If I go back it would be to look for an energy vortex to meditate in,  or explore more. Evidently there was a spring close to stone columns, a very promising sign.

Melondy Hill State Forest (SE Chenango County, NY), Part 1 Manitou Stones

Survey in Chenango County, NY--Part I

This past weekend I was hired to do a survey of a property and its stone structures in North Pharsalia, in Chenango County, in NY. There were a variety of stone structures and numerous Manitou Stones on the property.I told the property owner that the stone structures should be preserved. 

My map dowsing showed that there was a Field of Consciousness on the property near the road.  My dowsing on the property confirmed this. I did not take any pictures because it was in an area with covered with tall reeds.

We first noticed that parts of the land were charged when came upon an area with an earthen mound covering Earth Chakras, several large Manitou Stones and a platform stone. Below are pictures of  a few of the structures from that charged area.

The next area we visited contained a series of columned stone structures. They were very reminiscent of  Grafton NYS Park, Hennig Preserve Surveys Part 4 Grafton--The Sweet Area Continued; As well the stone columns we found on a survey in the Hudson Valley last fall, which were much taller Stone Structures--Hudson Valley/ Catskills Part 4 Stone Piles/Columns

I included the last picture because of the white blemish at the center top, maybe an orb, although I think its just a water mark.

These columns were located over an aspect of Mother Earth that I am not familiar with. There is no doubt they are situated over Earth Energies or some other feature of Mother Earth.

Survey in Chenango County, NY--Part II

One of the more interesting and unique stone structures was a large oval shaped pile of stacked stones about 5 to 5 feet tall.

The tall oval mound consisted of stacked stones. Wha't so amazing about it is how well it has stood for thousands of years. I imagine the Early Woodland period is probably the latest it could have been built.

The tall mound of stacked stones  marked the intersection of several Energy Lines. The surrounding area did not have the charged vibe like the area of Manitou Stones.

What did have a positive vibe and charged feeling to it was the top of the stacked stones.

The picture above is of one of the sides of the stacked stones.  Notice the indented area on the center left. I imagine that this indented area contained some sort of stone stairs.

This stacked stone structure was very unique. Call it an elevated platform.

The above stone pile marked the intersection of several Ley Lines (Lines of Consciousness(LOC) or Spirit Lines.)

The picture above is of the top of the stone mound.

Notice the Manitou Stone in the center of the picture. This shows incredible and meticulous work. Detailed work like this is why you should leave stone piles alone. Don't move stones in stone piles, take them apart remove stones. Archaeologists grave robbers and looter's of sacred stones do so much damage to sacred structures. I am talking about the physical features of the structure.

The spiritual damage done by archaeologists, grave robbers and looter's of sacred stones is even worse. They destroy the vibe to the point that it can become negative to the point of geopathic stress-they destroy co-births with our Mother such as energy vortices and more.

Please leave  stone structures alone.

It was a fun survey of a location with a lot of stone structures,

Manitou's at Skytop (in the city of Syracuse) Posting #3

Last Friday I went back to Skytop and found the collection of Manitou Stones I could not find during my last visit and post Manitou's at Skytop (in the city of Syracuse) Posting #2. Although I had a good idea of where they were, there is such a mass of trails there that curve and weave that it is easy to get lost.

The collection of Manitou Stones and accompanying stone works is impressive.

Jaeda Bear gives perspective as to how large the stones are. Unfortunately all of the stones have toppled over, or are close to doing so as the one Jaeda is in front of. The picture below better demonstrates this. It is a photograph of the exact opposite view.

Below is a picture of the center area.

Treated As a Sacred Area

I believe that this area of Manitou Stones were used for sacred purposes and possibly for healing for a long period. As I am fond of saying "Mother Earth Needs Us to Achieve Her Fullest Potential and We Need Her to Achieve Ours." Positive loving intentions are met with an equally positive and loving response. One way that our Mother does that is through water, the source of all life.

This collection of Manitou Stones has been blessed with a water vein, that no doubt formed in response to  the amount of praying, ceremony or healing that was done within it. In other words, all the positive thoughts and actions created a water vein thanks to our Mother. A water vein originates from the center of the collection of Manitous.

An Accompaniment

Surrounding the collection of Manitou Stones were smaller Manitous and Platform Stones. The Pictures below are of Platform Stones that have unfortunately been made part of the mountain bike trail, so bikers are constantly riding over them.

It is always a joy to find and be around sacred stone structures. Again what is so amazing about the Stone Structures at Skytop are that they have been able to withstand the assault of farming followed by a huge rock quarrying effort and now mountain bikers.
