The Carbon Footprint May Be Small But the Water Use, Land Use...Are Extreme

Democracy Now had an interesting segment featuring an Iranian Ecologist  telling how AI data centers are putting stress on the environment through power, water and land needs. By focusing on carbon we are failing to see the real environmental impact. For example, the speaker tells how biofuels, a darling to some environmentalists, has a water footprint 70 to 400 times larger than some fossil fuels than some traditional fossil fuels. You can catch the clip starting about 6 minutes in.

He calls what we are doing to Africa and South America by stripping them of resources so that we can drive an EV a "New Form Of  Imperialism."
