IN the face of an onslaught of bad news for Mother Earth there are pockets of hope. Efforts to revitalize the once badly polluted Hudson River have paid off and humpback whales have been sighted in New York Harbor.

Sacred Sites Update--FOR' Shadowcliff, Nyack, NY to be sold
Friends,
I was very saddened to receive an email a few minutes ago stating that the Fellowship of Reconciliation will be selling its Shadowcliff headquarters in Nyack, NY. Shadowcliff is listed as a sacred site on pages 92-96 of Sacred Sites in North Star Country: Places in Greater New York State (PA,OH,NJ,CT,MA, VT, ONT) That Changed the World
Shadowcliff is a Hudson River mansion located in Nyack, NY. In the picture above Linda Kelly and Hope Aitken are standing in front of the building.
The above picture is of the Peace Room. It had a very sweet vibe. While prayers and meditations occasionally take place there, it is where meetings were held and initiatives in social justice, acts of compassion and organizing for such took place. IT IS A TESTAMENT TO THE POWER OF KINDNESS, COMPASSION AND CONCERN TO ELEVATE A SPACE AND RAISE THE VIBE.
It speaks volumes to the power of good acts and compassion to elevate a space.
Here is the blurb from the email:

Many of you have also heard about the pending sale of Shadowcliff, and our decision to leave the suburban space which has been our base for many decades. Though the decision was not an easy one – and we will be providing more specific information on future plans in the months to come – we hope you can understand that new historical moments such as the one we now find ourselves in require new vantage points from which to look at the world and how we can best change it.
The spirit of the FOR shall live on in our local chapters, our faith-based peace fellowships, our strong connection to sisters and brothers throughout the world through our connections with the International FOR … and especially in each of you. We may no longer have a multi-family dwelling on a hill in Rockland County, but we most surely still have one another.
While I have found a few new places that contain Fields of Consciousness we have lost many more that did.
This is very, very sad for me to lose such a divine place.
Blessings,
madis
PS If you were planning to visit the FOR you better do it soon.

Trump's EPA Chief Initiates New Assault to Delegitimatize that Climate Change Caused by Humans
The Washington Post reported that Scott Pruitt Trump's EPA chief pushing governmentwide effort to question climate change science. Per the Post;
"The Trump administration is debating whether to launch a governmentwide effort to question the science of climate change, an effort that critics say is an attempt to undermine the long-established consensus human activity is fueling the Earth’s rising temperatures."
Technology Kills--Cell Phone Use by Teens Creates Mental Health Issues
As many of you know who have been reading this blog, or my books. know I am not a big fan of technology and see it as a danger to the world. CBS this morning reported on a recent study that said 50% of teens feel addicted to their cell phones. They cited a recent study that found that night time cell phone use significantly increases the rates of depression and other mental issues with teens.

Tornado Strikes Down Near Casino--AGAIN
The National Weather Service just confirmed that a tornado touched down yesterday in Verona, NY near the Turning Stone Casino.
Here is a link to a video of the tornado.
Tornado Rips Through Vernon, New York
What is interesting is that a tornado touched down in that same area three ago almost to a day.
Reports of possible tornado in Verona
This raises several questions:
As I noted in Vortices and Spirals;
Like us, Mother Earth is ravaged by a variety of negative vortices. The larger ones are well known, such as tornadoes, hurricanes and typhoons, and are all very visible and incredibly destructive. All of these violent storms have a counterclockwise (clockwise in the southern hemisphere) spin.
Science tells us that hurricanes and tornadoes begin as violent thunder or rain storms that grow with the convergence of an updraft of warm air, from the surface of the Earth, meeting a cold air downdraft, creating a funnel. The Coriolis Effect causes the funnel to rotate.
The few times I studied areas where tornadoes landed, I found they manifested within the area of a very, very large negative geographic samskara. As I noted earlier geographic samskaras come in many sizes and can have both positive and negative components. There are also clusters within clusters. Apparently, the paths where tornadoes touch down are in the more negative areas within a larger negative geographic samskara. Again, the population I have examined is small and negative geographic samskaras abound around the world, so to say some place is negative would not be a very differentiating factor. (pages 91-92)

This raises several questions:
- Why there? Tornadoes are not that common in upstate NY.
- Repetitive behavior. As I have noted on several occasions the same activity, or thinking at a particular place attracts more of the same.
- Is this Mother Earth trying to cleanse Herself?

Medical Study--Affects of Air Pollution More Lethal Than Previously Thought
A new study by the New England Journal of Medicine, Air Pollution and Mortality in the Medicare Population, found that the consumption of airborne fine particles and ozone even below accepted levels (government standards) increases the chance of premature death, particularly for seniors.
Researchers examined the Medicare claims of 60 million of American 65 and over for 7 years. It concluded pollution standards need to be increased and acceptable levels reduced.
Per the Los Angeles Times

Per the Los Angeles Times
"Critics may claim that stronger standards would offer diminishing returns, but the study results provide new evidence that they would actually increase health benefits, with fewer people getting sick and dying from dirty air, said Francesca Dominici, a data scientist at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the study’s principal investigator.
“We are seeing that the air that we are breathing right now is harmful, it's toxic,” Dominici said.
An editorial that accompanies the study said the findings “stress the need for tighter regulation of air-pollutant levels” and stricter limits on fine particulate matter.
“Despite compelling data, the Trump administration is moving headlong in the opposite direction,” the editorial said, citing the president’s recent steps to dismantle emissions-cutting rules, withdraw from the Paris climate accord and slash the EPA’s budget. “The increased air pollution that would result from loosening current restrictions would have devastating effects on public health.”
