Sacred Sites Update--FOR' Shadowcliff, Nyack, NY to be sold

Friends,

I was very saddened to receive an email a few minutes ago stating that the Fellowship of Reconciliation will be selling its Shadowcliff headquarters in Nyack, NY. Shadowcliff  is listed as a sacred site on pages 92-96 of Sacred Sites in North Star Country: Places in Greater New York State (PA,OH,NJ,CT,MA, VT, ONT) That Changed the World

Shadowcliff is a Hudson River mansion located in Nyack, NY. In the picture above Linda Kelly and Hope Aitken are standing in front of the building.

The above picture is of the Peace Room. It had a very sweet vibe. While prayers and meditations occasionally take place there, it is where meetings were held and initiatives in social justice, acts of compassion and organizing for such took place. IT IS A TESTAMENT TO THE POWER OF KINDNESS, COMPASSION AND CONCERN TO ELEVATE A SPACE AND RAISE THE VIBE.

It speaks volumes to the power of good acts and compassion to elevate a space.

Here is the blurb from the email:
Many of you have also heard about the pending sale of Shadowcliff, and our decision to leave the suburban space which has been our base for many decades. Though the decision was not an easy one – and we will be providing more specific information on future plans in the months to come – we hope you can understand that new historical moments such as the one we now find ourselves in require new vantage points from which to look at the world and how we can best change it.
The spirit of the FOR shall live on in our local chapters, our faith-based peace fellowships, our strong connection to sisters and brothers throughout the world through our connections with the International FOR … and especially in each of you. We may no longer have a multi-family dwelling on a hill in Rockland County, but we most surely still have one another.

While I have  found a few new places that contain Fields of Consciousness we have lost many more that did.

This is very, very sad for me to lose such a divine place.

Blessings,
madis

PS If you were planning to visit the FOR you better do it soon.
