Our Earth Day celebration for this Saturday has been cancelled because the lake is still too flooded. While the water level has substantially receded, it is still too high. There is just not enough room to hold an event as the pictures below show.
What was worrisome was that the second bench was nowhere to be found. I secured the bench last fall. Debbie Dennis of Onondaga Lake Park told me that a do gooder had removed the moorings fearing that the bench would float away. Well, it appears his actions caused their fears to manifest as there is no bench and only the discarded robe. Where did it go?
The good news is that Debbie will look for it and find a replacement if need be. We are hoping to have a third bench put in some time this year. Please consider making a tax deductible donation so that we can buy even more benches and help other sacred places in the North Star Country.

We will be having more events, stay tuned.
Someone has moved the bench back from the lake and it is tipped at an angle in the overflow pipe. See the discarded rope in the lower right.
A tree has fallen over in the last few weeks on the left side as you face the lake.
Looking towards the large multi-limbed tree in which the old wooden bench rested in front of.
No wooden bench only lots of water.
